Over the weekend, I went to visit my mother in Lee, MA. Lee is about a 45 minute drive from Albany. While I was there, I took a few shots from her third story window of the surrounding buildings. It is a quaint little town nestled in the Berkshires. If you are not familiar with Lee, it is in Western Massachusetts, about seven miles from the New York Border. If you make it to Lee, and you like good beer, check out Moe’s Tavern. It is also right across the street from her apartment and has a fantastic selection of some great beers. There are other great places in Lee as well, but that’s another blog for another day. Sorry for the short post today. My computer crashed and I am using my mother’s for this blog. Hope I can get it fixed quickly and without losing too much.
Have you ever been to Lee? Do you have any stories or places of interest to share with other readers?
How can you blog about Lee & not mention the Outlets?! Shame shame on you Michael. tsk tsk tsk…… 😛
Good luck w/your computer & also hope u don’t loose to much
HAHA! I had a feeling I was going to get beat up about the outlets not being in here! I will probably do another blog about Lee in the future and I will be sure to include them,
When I worked at JCREW more I would help the outlet JCREW store in Lee during holidays and shipments, so I would get to know the kids there really well. When it came to eating we would order take out from town all the time. The Locker Room ( aka Red Socks central) is a restaurant/pub kind of place with great pizza.
The restaurant who’s name escapes me now,it’s the one located in the old train station is pretty good as well. Had a nice dinner there with an college professor and his wife when they were passing through the area.
Arizona Pizza which I believe has a location in our area has great food, not just pizza. I always tell people if you are going to the outlets take less than five minute into town drive and actually have a nice meal instead of eating at the food court!
Ahh, the Locker Room. Great food, especially the potato puffs, Delicious! The train station restaurant is called Sullivan station. When did you work at the outlets? I worked up there back in the early 2000s.
What a quaint place! Is that pub where you went and drank Saturday night?
It sure is, They have a pretty impressive beer menu.
Bummer to hear about computer crash. Also I agree w/Emily that food is better intown, especially at the mexican place or the coffee sandwich place across the street.
Thanks Augi. I think you are referring to Hot Harry’s. If so, they opened one in East Greenbush at the 4 and 20 area in the shopping plaza with Hannaford. The place across the street has had many names over the last few years. They have been Juice and Java, Cactus Cafe, a bakery, and a few others.
Heading to Lee this weekend. Will stop by Moe’s.
I will be out there Friday afternoon til Sunday. Let me know.
I wish I lived close enough to check it out! If this pic’s any indication, I’d love the see the architecture there- I bet it’s wonderful. 🙂
The whole area is very pretty and a huge tourist destination. If you ever get up this way, make sure you check it out.
